Would you try a cockroach canapé?
Wednesday evenings in January and February 2017, Sydney museums and galleries stay open late and offer new experiences. Mostly free.
There’s a great chance to see what’s new – and miss the crowds – in in Sydney’s galleries and museums this summer.
Perhaps you’re fascinated by digital technology (3D printing anyone?) in the design and production of objects? That’ll be the the Powerhouse Museum – free entry on Wednesday nights. Or maybe you want to try a snack of cockroaches, crickets, mealworms and ants? Head to the Australian Museum (2-for-1 entry on Wednesday nights). What about a free mystery tour at the MCA?
Lots to discover. You might even develop a taste for crispy crickets!
These are the doors open every Wednesday night until the end of February:
- The Art Gallery of NSW,
- Australian Museum,
- Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences (Powerhouse Museum),
- Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA),
- State Library of NSW, and
- Sydney Opera House.
